The Alano Club of San Francisco, like other Alano clubs, is an autonomous organization that is not affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous or any other 12-Step program. The Alano Club is a nonprofit club supported by the monthly contributions of our members. We offer members of the 12-Step community a place to gather with people who understand the program and the process of recovery. We offer access to 12-Step meetings, informational and educational resources, social activities, and a place to enjoy refreshments, thereby enhancing the quality of life for the members of the clean and sober community of San Francisco.
Meetings:
In accordance with 12-step traditions, all meetings at the Alano Club are autonomous. The Alano Club does not make policy for how meetings are conducted and does not collect or hold any 7th Tradition or H & I money. Each group is responsible for paying their rent and making their own distribution to Central Office, General Service, and H & I just as if they were renting space from a church or elsewhere.
Space:
The Alano has room for large-scale meetings and events. In addition to offering space for 12-Step meetings, we provide the opportunity for sober activities such as dances, plays, talent shows, and other events. If you would like to host an event please contact the Alano Club manager.
